Monguí is a mountain town of forty-five hundred in the Colombian Andes. Ballmaking there goes back to 1932.

Hayworth Athletic Austin, Texas

Hayworth Athletic makes hand-stitched soccer balls. They are designed in Austin, Texas and made in Monguí, Boyacá, a town of forty-five hundred in the Colombian Andes where ballmaking goes back to 1932. Thirty-two panels are cut one at a time, screened by hand, and closed with Italian waxed thread. Most ballmakers make two to three in a day.
